Four Smuggling Groups Were Seized, Over 200 Million RMB Involved

Customs seized large cases of smuggled wines in Guangdong and Fujian provinces, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai are mainly involved in the case.

 

A total of 4 smuggling groups were destroyed in the customs action. During the investigation, the groups smuggled more than 600 containers from 2013. The amount involved in the case is more than 200 million RMB.

 

Xiamen Customs seized some companies suspected of underreporting imported wine value

 

According to CCTV news: in May of 2017, Xiamen Customs Anti-smuggling Bureau got a clue that someone smuggled wine into China territory through ports in Xiamen.

 

Through market research, large data analysis and comparison, anti-smuggling personnel found out evidence that Lu's company was suspected of imported wines smuggling.

 

Cai Wenchuan, deputy director of the Xiamen Customs Smuggling Bureau Haicang branch, said: “According to the normal standard, the price he declared should be in (each bottle) 5 Euro and 10 Euro, but he only declared 3 Euro and 6 Euro, the declared price is about 30%-60% lower than required.”

 

After deep investigation on Lu’s company, Xiamen customs found that Lu was only one of the leaders of the customs clearance group, and the real cargo owners had also manipulated other customs groups behind the scenes. They smuggled imported wines from Guangzhou and other places. After careful check up, department of anti-smuggling found that Li was the real owner of these smuggled wines, who based in Zhuhai.

 

Anti-smuggling personnel also found key evidence of the smuggling group making false documents to declare to customs and evaded the tax.
 

 


 

A total of 4 groups and 17 suspects were captured

 

The Anti-smuggling Department of the Customs has organized more than 230 police forces and divided into 42 action groups, carrying out centralized capture targeted at these gang members, and uncover inventory of goods and funds involved in the cases, then seized Lu and his wife Wang in Jimei District, Xiamen.

 

Another capture group seized 3 persons including Jiang in Foshan, Guangdong, and escorted back to Xiamen for acceptance on the same day.

 

Li, head of all these groups, organizing supplier in foreign countries and promote sales in China, and other related suspects were also arrested in Zhuhai. A large number of smuggles wines were tracked down in his company.

 

All 17 suspects of 4 groups fell to the net on the action day, and more than 8000 bottles of imported wines suspected of smuggling and all kinds of documentary evidence.

 

Low price declaration smuggling affects normal wine market order

 

Such groups smuggle imported wine by means of low price declaration, and gain profits in every link.

 

According to Zheng Shaoguang, section chief of Xiamen customs Anti-smuggling Bureau Haicang branch, introduced: “Some involved customs clearance companies that we grasped, providing services for custom clearance with 100% pass rate and charge each case for 7RMB, this is also net profit. That is to say, a container can get a net profit of around 10,000RMB.

 

Li began to smuggle wine from January 2013, with a total of more than 600 containers, with a value of more than 200 million RMB. As an organizer of smuggling activities and owner of wine companies, Li has made a huge profit during 5 more years.

 

Anti-smuggling personnel analyzed: these smuggled wines are smuggled at a lower price than they should be and sold at a lower price than the market level. It will not only infringe on the legitimate wine companies, but also bring impact on the normal market order.
